Finding the Weight
2018, Montreal
Finding the Weight, reimagines territory as something traversed—an intimate, vulnerable landscape shaped by movement and sensation. At its core are thirty clay vessels, each cast by the weight of a human organ, giving sculptural form to the body’s interior. Placed directly on the floor, these vessels become fragments of terrain, surrounded by water pools, beeswax, plaster molds, and mounds of soil. A warm yellow light and a pulsing video projection evoke both bodily and cosmic rhythms. This work invites slow, embodied presence—where body and land are not separate, but mirror one another in their fragility and transformation.
